OpenNoaaport is a facility of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) Climate and Weather Resource Center to provide free access to the NOAAPort data stream. It also serves as the testbed for the Noaaport Broadcast System Processor (Nbsp).
The Noaaport installation consists of a 12 foot C-band dish installed on the roof of the Natural Sciences Fase II building of the UPR-RP campus, and a Novra S300 receiver. The receiver is connected to a network switch together with several proliants, which have several duties including serving the Noaaport data as indicated below.
The data can be accessed in various ways. We try to keep an open access policy, with the understanding that we are not setup to offer any availability warranties.
