Overview

This is the NOAAPort server of the UPR Climate and Weather Resource Center. It serves as the testbed for the Noaaport Broadcast System Processor (Nbsp), and as data source to other facilities of the UPR.

Data Access

The data can be accessed in various ways. We try to keep a balance between maintaining an open access policy and the fact that we are not setup to support regular permanent connections from web client applications as a service. For those more permanent connections the iNoaaport servers indicated below are better.

Http

• The Nbsp web server can be accessed at

  Client programs such as DA, GRlevelx and others and access specific data types by following the links there, for example

  The same data is also available through the standard port 80, i.e.,

• Real-time data feeds to Nbsp slaves are available from the Nbsp master servers

• IDV users can access the Nbsp thredds-like catalogs by pointing to any of the following

  in the Data Load/Chooser menu of the applications.


• WCT can access the thredds-like catalogs of radar (nids) files by selecting the THREDDS item in the Data Selector menu and pointing it to

• Weatherscope can access the data by installing the WS configuration files following these instructions.


• GIS applications can access the the Sat and Level III radar shapefiles at

NNTP

• Text files are available by nntp feeds from

  nntp.inoaaport.net
  

  which can be retrieved with any News reader such as the one included with browsers, or nntp readers like Xpn (linux et. al.) and Quadsucker (Windows).
